TQM PIPELINE ANNOUNCES THE STOPPAGE OF ITS PIPELINE PROJECT BETWEEN CACOUNA AND LEVIS

TQM Pipeline (Trans Québec & Maritimes Pipeline Inc.) announces the stoppage of its pipeline project aimed at joining the Cacouna Energy LNG Terminal located at Cacouna, near Rivière-du-Loup, to a junction point on its existing transmission system located in Lévis. 

This announcement follows notification to TQM Pipeline by its client that it had decided to withdraw it request for transportation service.

The 250 km long pipeline project known as “Eastern Access”, required an investment of an estimated $760 million dollars and was to have been submitted to the applicable federal and provincial regulatory agencies over the course of the year 2008, after having been the object of an environmental impact study and public consultation.
